In response to organisational and service user needs, we are looking for individuals who are passionate, flexible, creative, and who are committed to working in a high quality AMHP and Adults Emergency Duty Service (EDS).

We are inviting applications from experienced AMHPs to join our supportive team. Our teams cover the whole of the Kirklees district.

The work of an AMHP is not always easy, and we understand the importance of taking care of ourselves.  We take your wellbeing seriously and have Wellbeing Champions based across Adult Social care who understand when you may need some additional support. As a Kirklees Council AMHP, you will be fully supported by a dedicated team to undertake these complex and demanding roles.

The role will involve a blended approach to office and home working to meet the needs of the service and yourself.  IT will be provided to ensure comfortable working environments both at home and in the office.  As a local authority are committed to a flexible working and always promote a healthy work-life balance. 

What you will do...

The primary role is to undertake Mental Health Act (1983) assessments and perform all mental health act related duties undertaken in the AMHP hub. This includes undertaking MHA’83 assessments, offering advice to partner agencies, , undertaking Nearest Relative enquiries and the role of Social Supervisor for Conditionally Discharged patients. Your professional expertise and approach will ensure individual needs and aspirations are always supported, risk is managed proportionately, and safeguarding is of paramount importance. You will be part of a dynamic, responsive, and innovative team with varied tasks and no two days are the same.

What you will need...

You must be qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional.

Travel is an essential part of this job, and you will be required travel across Kirklees.
