Salary: From £47,181 up to £51,356 per annum

Grade: M

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

About the Role

As our Staffing Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, effective staffing across a range of children’s services including Children’s residential centres, bespoke and emergency placements. You’ll lead the recruitment, deployment, and quality assurance of relief staff, ensuring children receive consistent, high-quality care.

This is a county-wide role requiring flexibility, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of child welfare systems. You’ll work closely with multi-agency partners, manage budgets, and contribute to the development of our resilient staffing model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, induction, training, and deployment of staff across diverse settings.
  • Coordinate emergency placements and ensure safe staffing aligned with individual risk assessments.
  • Provide high-quality reports and data to support strategic planning.
  • Liaise with social work, residential, and early help teams to ensure consistent care.
  • Champion safer recruitment and workforce development strategies.
  • Act as a single point of contact for staffing coordination across the county.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to children and families.
  • Proven experience in people management, crisis response, and multi-agency working.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel across the county and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
