Job Description

We are looking for 3 dedicated, flexible, approachable and dynamic individuals to join our bespoke response to exploitation service ‘B-SAFE’.

It is essential that you can engage and develop sustainable relationships with ‘hard to reach’ young people their families and caregivers and have a commitment to high-quality service provided to all who you work with.

As a BSAFE worker, you will have unique role that provides a level of flexibility to deliver support and interventions to children and families where significant risk of exploitation has been identified
As an ‘additional worker’ you will not have the responsibility for statutory processes, but you will have the responsibility to quickly build trust and rapport with children and their parents/caregivers so you can then deliver evidence-based support and interventions in line with the child’s plan.

  • This means you will be able to work with children and families in a more intensive way than any other worker, with the ability to spend hours/days with children and families to support them through crisis and acute need, before delivering structured interventions alongside other key partners i.e. Sexual abuse charities; CAMHS; substance misuse services.

  • You will be the advocate and voice for children, so it is vital your flexible and bespoke approach is focused on having a rich understanding of your child’s life, how they became so vulnerable to harm and what will be the best ways in which risks can reduce to keep the child and others safe.

This role will require partnership working at its core and the willingness to ‘go the extra mile for the children and families of Barnsley. This role will require a flexible approach to work and working hours between 8am – 8pm (with some ad hoc weekend work possible) to help engage and deliver an effective service to our young people and families.
